At the beginning it was just an idea. We spare people a visit to the gym and bring them great fitness courses to their living rooms. Via computer and TV the best fitness trainers should teach the newest fitness trends.
The idea doubled as the briefing. We developed the detailed concept and the design together with the client, an Austrian start-up. The service design was meant to cater to the needs of various types of users – from pregnant women to fitness addicts and to provide them with orientation at a glance. And in spite of the abundance that a real gym offers, the user interface had to stay simple. Because nobody needs features like a problem area training or a course finder that nobody can find.
In several workshops we defined the precise offer and the functions of the online gym with NewMoove’s fitness pros.
The original user interface that we designed in close cooperation with the client efficiently stages the fitness courses, the numerous features and the online shop, but because of its simple user guidance, it won’t make people break out in a sweat.
To test our ideas, the user interface and the technical concept for their marketability, we developed a partly functional prototype that was then tested over two months by about 100 subjects. The results were then incorporated into the implementation of the live system.
We programmed the intricately designed front-end to be browser-optimized. The challenge here was the perfect interaction between the animated elements and the videos.
Smart TV App
After launching the online portal, we designed the NewMoove Smart-TV app, through which the gym can easily be used over the TV.
NewMoove now has over 80 000 paying subscribers (as per April 2014) and is Europe’s most successful online gym (according to the client).
